Microsoft Office X Rolls to the End of the Line

Microsoft announced that as of January 9th, 2007, support for Office version X will end. What this presents for Mac users is an immediate problem with calendaring in relation to daylight savings time (DST) events.

The calendar dates for DST were extended by Congress, effective this March. The calendar within MS-Office X will not reflect the new DST time correctly, thus making calendaring nearly useless in this version. The only "fix" is to upgrade to Microsoft Office 2004 which has been patched by Microsoft. Those of you with Office 2004, run the Microsoft Update utility to download and install the DST fix for this version.
